outfit post: vintage striped top and vintage blazer

the outfit: vintage top, vintage blazer, belt, pants

As you can see, I am still in the blazer phase. A blazer can easily 'upgrade' or elevate your outfit, from relaxed casual to smart casual. Or dressed up. If I were in Malaysia, I would have matched the clothes with a pair high heels. However, over here, I walk a lot. Perhaps I have yet to perfect and comfortable heels. The Moschino belt is a purchase from Vintage HK, which sadly is no longer in operation. Sometimes, whenever I am in Central, I would visit Vintage HK. Now, one less vintage store for me to visit once in a while.

How is your weekend so far? It is a busy weekend for me as I need to study for an exam taking place on coming Tuesday. Wish me luck!

Till the next post, stay chic!

ready for spring!

The outfit: boyfriend blazer, camisole top, vintage floral print pants, wedges

I am back and ready for Spring! Here is a little confession on the outfit, well, the boyfriend blazer actually. I bought the blazer in Kuala Lumpur (KL) few years back and brought it over with me to Hong Kong (HK). Only today, I wore it for the time. Can you believe that the blazer has been hanging in my wardrobe in KL and HK for more than three years! Luckily, I can still fit it. Now, I need to make sure that every piece in my wardrobe has been wore at least for one time....

Hope you are having a great weekend. Enjoy and stay chic!

thrifting in hong kong - mee & gee

mee n gee

mee n gee 2

Last weekend I visited the Hong Kong Museum of History at Tsim Sha Tsui and on my way to the MTR station, I came across a Mee & Gee store.Since I have no other plans after visiting the museum, I popped into the store. No luck this time, I went home empty handed. So, if you ever happened to visit the museum or in the area, do drop by at the Mee & Gee store located at Granville Road.

Hope you are having a great weekend. Stay chic always!

fashion project: diy beaded collar top

I am happy to start working on some DIY fashion projects again. So, here is the first fashion project of the year; a DIY beaded collar top. This is a relative easy fashion project especially for those who know how to sew with a needle. And you can do this whilst watching the telly or listening to the radio (multi-tasking is good, no?)

what you need

What you will need:

Various sizes of faux pearls/beads
Sequins (recommended)
Crystals (optional)
A pair of scissors
Thread
Needle
A top

beading

This is a random beads pattern, hence sew or bead as you like.

Here is a close-up on the beads.

The finished collar!

What do you think of this project? Easy peasy? Hope you will give it a try.

Happy trying and till the next entry, stay chic!

passion in shoes designing

One of my new year resolutions is to continue submitting entries to the Footwear Design Competition organized by the Federation of Hong Kong Footwear Ltd as part of learning process and gaining experience in developing and drawing shoes designs. I hope someday I can make into the finals (keeping my fingers crossed!).

The reason I am participating in the competition is to challenge myself and to see how far I can make it. From the past submissions, it was pretty obvious I need to work harder.

Here are my past entries...

Soon, I will start to work my entries for this year's submission. Hhhmmm... I wonder what are my inspirations for upcoming designs.

On lighter note, hope you are having a great weekend. Till the next post, stay chic!
