top ten favourite looks - pt 2

I made an entry on my 2011 resolutions here, but I have briefly reviewed and made some notes in this post:

Career
- still looking for the ideal job but no luck so far.

Health
- I have stopped going to gym in the last three months... sigh.
- No problem eating more veggie and fruits. Love them!
- Still drinking coffee :(

Finance
- Finding it hard to stick to my budget. Period.

Leisure
- Need to make the effort to spend more time with family and friends.
- Need to set aside some time for sewing.
- I think I am doing ok with my blog. No?
- No travel plans to Europe :(

In a nutshell, I do not think that I have been sticking to my resolutions. So, do I continue to make resolutions for 2012? Hhhmm....

Whilst we are busy working hard to fulfill our dreams or achieve our goals in life, we tend to overlook simple things which bring simple joys into ones life. Here are my simple joys;

1. Sipping a nice cup of coffee or tea and eating a lovely pastry
2. Snuggling under bed covers on a cool or rainy morning
3. Eating yummy chocolate ice-cream
4. Thrifting

Oh boy... I am drooling over these lovelies vintage shoes and vintage hat right at this moment... The t-strap red vintage shoes are just so chic and the burgundy peep toe vintage shoes are so mad men-ish. Whilst for the last pair of vintage shoes, I am in love with its colour. What an unique colour, don't you think? Oh, and for the vintage net hat with flowers and bows, it is so adorable and sweet. What a great way to de-stress... enjoying occasional virtual window shopping.

Waiting for fall to come... but will it come?

buying trip pt 2 - something for myself

Discovered a new bundle store in Ipoh last month. During this trip, I was lucky as the store was having a clearance; 2 pieces of t-shirts or skirts for RM3. Isn't this a great bargain?! And I bought two skirts! Oh boy, now I am cracking my head which skirts I need to let go...

As usual, I would go to Memory Lane on Sunday morning. After searching for vintage patterns books for quite some time, again, I was in luck. I bought three vintage patterns books from one of the stalls. From the style and design of the clothes, these are mostly probably 1980's design.

It was truly a great weekend. I am very happy with my purchases and can not wait for the DIY projects for the stool and lamp.

buying trip pt 1 - something for bedroom

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and break. I was in Ipoh over the weekend to source items for bedroom and vintage stuff for my collection. And I was lucky to come across with these lovely wooden vintage stools, which will be my next DIY project. I am planning to paint them. One of these stools will be used as bed side table and a stool for metal typist desk.

Bought two table lamps as well at the same store. One needs cleaning whilst the other one, I need to work on the lamp shade. Another DIY project. Oh boy, I could see that I would pretty busy with DIY projects. But I can not wait to share these projects with you here.

Any DIY projects ideas to share?

I guess the question; "how pair of shoes does a woman need?", finally unfolds (well, at least to me). Ten shoes should be on your rack:

As for me, I would replace boots with oxford shoes either flats or heels; wooden platform shoes with wedges.

Decorating a room is not an easy task. Or perhaps I am being too perfectionist? I have looked for suitable, useful yet pretty items for my bedroom and I came across these...

The bag is adorable but I do not think I will buy it to decorate my room. It will make my room too showroom-ish like. It is pretty to be admired from a distance.

The list goes on... but I am carefully contemplating between functionality and presentation of an item. And of course, not forgetting about budget as well. Can not wait to see my room when it is done.
