wanderlust: when in paris... visit a vintage store: mamie blue

It was good to visit Paris again. I guess, I was lucky. During this trip, I planned to visit a vintage store and I picked Mamie Blue, which I did not manage to visit in the past trip. And it did not disappoint.

I had a quick chat with the owner (I assume) who is a friendly lady who asked how I discovered the shop and where I came from. After replying her questions, she reminded me that there are more items downstairs before she headed down. The shop is well curated with lovely vintage pieces of different eras of accessories and clothes. I felt like a kid in a candy store; so much to see and not sure where to begin...

wanderlust: when in bath... visit the fashion museum

One of the highlights of my trip to Bath is the fashion museum. It is said that the Fashion Museum Bath is one of the world's greatest museum collections of historical and contemporary dress. During my visit, currently there are exhibiting two exhibitions; a History of Fashion in 100 Objects (now until 1 January 2019) and Royal Women (now until 28 April 2019).

The History of Fashion in 100 Objects will take you on a fashion journey through time from the 1600s to the present day, giving you the opportunity to take a closer look at the lovely curated pieces. The Royal Women exhibition looks at dress worn by Queen Alexandra, Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret. Each piece tells a story and how these royalities chose to present themselves.

wanderlust: when in bath... check out vintage and charity stores

Bath is well-known for its Roman built-baths and the city was declared as UNESCO world heritage site in 1987. The combination of Roman remains with elegant Georgian architecture makes Bath one of the most histrocially interesting places in the UK. As for me, Roman baths is not really my thing... so as usual I go for vintage hunting and Bath Fashion Museum (tcoming in the next post). There are a number of vintage stores and many charity shops and I selected few to check out in my trip.

I almost bought a 40s/50s vintage dress in the Yellow Shop but it was small for me. I was unable to zip the dress. No luck...perhaps I have better in my next vintage adventure? Who knows? Will see...

Have a good weekend everyone, till my next post, stay chic!

wanderlust: when in london... visit brick lane

First of all, I would like to apologize for neglecting my blog in the past months... I was travelling for work but was fortunate to have some personal time to do the things that I love. And I think you can guess what were on my to-do-list. Yes, vintage hunting (either for purely checking it out or shopping)! This time, I checked out Brick Lane Vintage Market.

You can find a wide variety of vintage items for ladies and gentlemen from clothing, shoes, to accessories. If you are lucky, you might find something to bring home. As for me, it was a good experience to check out this market.

If the vintage market leaves you unsatisfied, there are couple of vintage stores around this area.

The store is spacious and nicely decorated. Vintage pieces are arranged neatly on racks. If there is a kilo-sale going in the store, then you are lucky.

As I entered the shop, the shelves full of vintage shoes got my attention. Let me tell you a little secret, I almost bought a pair of 40s/50s black suede pumps... I even tried them on and then I know I should not asked myself this "Do I really need another pair of vintage pumps?" but I did. And automatically I put them back on the shelf where they belong...

Oh, by the way, I got too excited with the vintage shoes that I forgot to take more photos. The store is stocked with vintage clothes for women and men, bags and accesories. You can spot few designer vintage items such as Ferragamo shoes.

So this is my little vintage adventure in Brick Lane. Not a bad experience after all.

Hope you are enjoying the weekend. Till my next post, stay chic!
