with or without

Have you ever been in a situation whereby you have doubts with your decision? Whether it was a small or big matter in life. In my case, I could not decide whether to accessorize with a necklace for my outfit. To some, this maybe a lame thing to be worried about but not for a fashionista though.

stripes of colours

A fun and (slightly) colourful ensemble for work today. This was to break the monotonous of my work attire. Black, navy, grey and white are pretty standard colours for work attire. Luckily my job does not require very formal work wear yet can not be too casual either. I enjoy such freedom but at times I might overdressed... Anyway, overdressed is better than under-dressed, don't you think?

missed

This outfit post was meant to be posted last night but I reached home late, almost half past eleven and I was pretty knackered, so... I did not make any entry. Watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 with a friend of mine. The outfit was pretty simple and minimal. Love the clean cut of the top.

waiting for autumn to arrive...

Waiting for autumn? Why not? Can not wait to look at yellow leaves falling down from trees. Strolling in the park. Feeding the ducks by the pond. How nice and lovely if these were not only my imagination.

plain and blah

Feeling blah and today's outfit was a bit plain. Perhaps it was one of those days kind of thing. Does your outfit affect your mood for the day or does your mood affect your outfit ensemble? I could not help myself thinking; when you look good, you feel good?

sweet like cotton candy

Perhaps my sweet tooth inspired my outfit for today. The colours are just so sweet just like cotton candy. This is a repeat top. Wore this top almost a year ago, on my first thrifting trip to Memory Lane. Click here to check out the post. Back then I paired the top with a pair of jeans. Pretty simple and straight forward style.

another repeat top

Yet another repeat top. Wore the top for my one of my posts. Back then my hair was short but now it has grown longer. I am not sure what to do with my hair - should I let it grow or to cut it short? What do you think?

Two more days to the weekend. Can't wait...

Keeping mum

First of all, my sincere apologies to all that I did not post an entry yesterday as intended. Experienced some technical problem last evening and this has been resolved. Phew... and now I am back. Remember this set of skirt suit? Bought the set during my trip to Ipoh in February. During a briefing at work, one of the staff asked if I purchased the lovely set from Zara. I just smiled.

Outfit Posts Week: #5

Not sure if you noticed but I have got a bit of sunburn. Was taking photos outdoor for work today and I was without any protection from the sun such as hat or sunblock cream. My face is red as a lobster! First outfit posts week has come to an end. I am contemplating whether I should allocate one week of every month for outfit posts week. What do you think?

Outfit Posts Week: #4

It is dress time! After three consecutive days wearing pants, it was nice to be in a dress. It is not that I do not like pants, but I do not think that pants suit me well. Paired the simple dress with a so-called boyfriend blazer. Actually, the blazer is about one size bigger than my normal size. One more day to the weekend. Yay! But first outfit posts week will end soon...

Outfit Posts Week: #3

I am unable to recall if this would be my first attempt at colour blocking. Anyway, I did not really accessorise a lot as I was trying to keep the outfit down a bit. Have been slightly dressed up to work lately. Not sure if any of my colleagues notices anything...

Outfit Posts Week: #2

Yet another masculine look for work today. Added a bit of colour (pink) to complete the look and to add a tiny bit of femininity into the outfit. The vest was features in one of the posts in Aug 2010. I paired the vest with maxi skirt. Click here to check out that post. Which look do you prefer or like?

Outfit Posts Week: #1

I have decided to post outfits for this whole week. Outfit ensembles would be mixture of contemporary, thrifted, hands-me-down and/or vintage pieces. My first ensemble is quite boyish. I hardly wear a vest to work and this was my first attempt!

Legally black

Almost from head to toes in pink today. Another cute preppy outfit for work. I found the skirt in an offer bin, one of the stalls in a fashion bazaar last year. Guess how much was the skirt? It was RM5! I changed the buttons on the skirts as I felt the skirt looks better with ivory buttons instead of black buttons. The vintage blouse was also on sale and I got it for RM5! Great look does not cost much.

Plan B

My outfit for today was supposedly another vintage dress - stripes in light muted green. Unfortunately, the zipper was broken at the very last minute this morning. The zipper was OK when I tried the dress two or three times some time ago. Nothing much I could do but to find a replacement quickly. Randomly I picked this dress as my plan B. Phew... one dress crisis solved.

Pastel dreams

The pastel colours of my outfit ensemble today were just so sweet. To add a bit of femininity or ladylike, I matched the outfit with pearl necklace, and put on DIY bows shoes socks. The vintage brooch was just the perfect match for the pearl necklace. Felt like I have travelled back to the 60s.

Wired again

Modem has been replaced and I am wired again. Yay! So much catching up to do but will go slow. I have few interesting and exciting news or thrift finds (again? - yes, again) to share. Another minimalist style - just let the fabric of the dress does it work.

It is good to be back. Will continue daily posting. Stayed tune!

De-stress

Window shopping and a good movie are just good ways to de-stress after a hectic day at work. Window shopped for inspirations and ideas for styling. Not fully inspired but I love the colours of spring summer collection of Zara.

Watched Thor and it is a good movie even though I have never read the comic before. Marvel and DC comics superheroes' movies will be hitting cinema soon - Captain America and Green Lantern. On another note, the French Film festival at GSC will start tomorrow as well. Oh gosh, I think I will be hitting the cinema quite frequently this month.

Take a break, have a ....

Whilst I am supposed to count down coffee intake, but I needed a mini break from work, I had a cup of neslo (mixture of nescafe coffee with milo) this morning. Just sipping the drink for a while and taking things easy for couple of minutes.... It felt good although it was for a very short period of time. At times, there would be cupcakes or cakes in the staff room. Yummy... but not for today.

It makes me wonder

Half of today, my mind was toying with the question; when enough is enough? The context of the question is not related to fashion at all (do not ask a woman how many pairs of shoes she needs/wants. It is never enough.). This can be related to work, relationship or any particular situation. For me, it is about work. All these while I have been struggling to find the balance between passion and money. Some might have found the job they love and passionate about and earning a good (or at least a reasonable) pay at the same time. How lucky these people. How do you know when enough is enough? What is your deal breaker?
