Budapest is cited as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. It is even more beautiful at night; believe me, the night scenery is amazing. And it would need another post for this. 

Just like the other looks, for Budapest, I applied the same styling. I mixed vintage with modern pieces; pairing vintage dress with leather jacket and sneakers (for comfort). As the photo shoot required a lot of walking, I wore sneakers instead of vintage heels.

The next stop of my trip is the heart of Europe, Prague, which is also known as Golden City. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Prague has its own charm; to me, it feels like a fairytale land - so magical and yet sometimes mysterious in its own way. My favourite spots are Charles Bridge and Old Town.

This adorable 50s dress was purchased through Instagram. What I love about this dress is not only it fits perfectly but also the buttons details. The dress comes with two pockets too! Who doesn't like a dress with pockets?

Paris, City of Light, one of the most romantic places in the world; I am pretty sure it is on (almost) every girls' wishlist. To be able to visit Paris, it is indeed a dream comes true. Besides the Lourve, Musee d'Orsay (to name a few a must visit museums); just imagine all the scrumptious pasteries (croissants, macarons and the list goes on...), vintage shopping or strolling in Jardin des Tuileries, Paris has it all.

When taking photos with Paris as your background, you definitely need a special dress. The beautiful dress was purchased from Victory Girl Vintage and it was perfect for the photo shoot. Actually it did not cross my mind when I bought the dress. All I thought was; "This is a lovely dress! And I need to get it...".  As for the vintage 40s heels, I bought them from Roads Less Travelled 2 at a great deal. Currently I am slowly expanding my vintage wardrobe from the 80s to the 40s to 50s and maybe 30s.

In my recent trip to London, I was lucky enough to see Big Ben and hear its bell before it was officially closed for four year due to conservation work. As you can see from the above photo, scaffoldings are being built around the base of the clock tower. London would not be the same without its iconic landmark.

This simple yet chic 40s brown dress is one of kinds. It comes with square collar and pockets. And I love dresses that come with pockets - so handy! Furthermore, the design of dress is timeless and if I did not mention it is a 40s dress, it is hard to tell. I bought this beauty from Dethrose Vintage and the shoes from Road Less Travelled Vintage 2. They are indeed a match made in vintage heaven.

The second location is Neal Yard's. I came across this location whilst searching for hidden gems of London. What do you think? Don't you just love the beautiful and vibrant surroundings.

Visiting the ancient town of Hoi An has been on my list for a while. Recently I am happily to tick off Hoi An from my list. The ancient town of Hoi An is awarded as a UNESCO World heritage site. The site is  a well-preserved example of a south-east Asian trading port of the 15th to 19th centuries, with buildings that display a unique blend of local and foreign influences.

The best way to enjoy Hoi An is wandering around and getting lost in this little beautiful ancient town. If you are a fan of Vietnamese coffee, take a break and enjoy a nice cup of coffee in a local café. Better yet, find a rooftop café or a riverfront café to enjoy the breath taking view of Hoi An whilst sipping your coffee.

This lovely floral vintage dress has been in my wardrobe for ages. I bought this dress in a flea market in Kuala Lumpur. When  packing for this trip, I thought to myself; why not pack this piece? And it was a good decision.

Last summer I bought few 40s vintage dresses and now I am trying to indulge in my purchases. I came across this adorable vintage dress on Etsy and  I was lucky because it is in my size. After few clicks, the dress is mine.

What make it such an adorable dress are the white collar and white cap sleeves. The dress comes with a side metal zipper, one of the features of a 40s dress. I re-hemmed the length of the dress, giving it a fresher look and more suited to my height.

Every now and then I search for 40s dresses on Etsy and also Instagram. Sometimes, I would buy 'wounded' pieces and try to give them second life. Oh, I just realised that I bought two pieces for my next projects and one perfectly nice wool dress for autumn or winter. Can't wait to receive the dresses!

outfit post: vintage outfit takes a stroll in the park in madrid

Barcelona; ticked, Segovia; ticked, Toledo; ticked; that means left Madrid to be explored. I spent the remaining days of my holiday in this vibrant city. Whilst there are many art museums in Madrid but did you know there is a museum of costume or museo del traje? The permanent exhibition showcases a historical evolution of costumefrom the 17th century to the present day. There is a small section dedicated to the Spanish renowned designer; Cristóbal Balenciaga. Would highly recommend this museum for fashion lovers.

Besides art museums and museums, there are several parks in Madrid. Park is a good place to recharge and for a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Grab a bocadillo (sandwich) and enjoy a quick bite in a park. Once you are done, you can people watch too. The park is huge with different attractions within the park itself, for instance the Crystal Palace.  Buen Retiro park is a-must visit and I could not agree more.

After Segovia, next city on my itinerary was Toledo. There is an old Spanish saying; until you've seen Toledo, you have not seen Spain. Toledo is known as City of Three Cultures because of the historical co-existence of Christians, Muslims and Jews cultures. It is a lovely city to visit with beautiful architecture, narrow streets for wandering and getting lost and also not forgetting the scrumptious food. Toledo is indeed not to be missed when you are in Spain!

A habit of mine which is I tend to keep newly bought clothes (either new, thrifted or vintage) for some time before wearing them. To be honest, I have this skirt for over 4 years and it has never seen the light. However, I did the skirt justice; not only it has seen the light but also travelled to Spain. What a lucky skirt, don't you think? I love the prints of anchors on the skirt, just a cute print.

If you have a habit like mine, what is the clothing item that you have kept the longest before wearing it? I think I should start checking my wardrobe for any lost souls...

outfit post: the segovian holiday

After Barcelona, I travelled to Madrid and spent the remaining days of my holiday in Madrid and nearby cities. One of the nearby cities is Segovia; under 30 minutes AVE train ride. Perfect for a day trip from Madrid.

Two main attractions that I love are the Alcázar of Segovia and the Aqueduct. Doesn't the Alcázar look like one of the palaces featured in Disney's animation or cartoon? Currently it is used as a museum and a military archives building. It was originally built as a fortress but has served a royal palace, a state prison, a Royal Artillery College and a military. As for the Aqueduct, it is the most magnificent landmark of Segovia. It was built during the Roman era and was used to transport water from the Rio Frio river to the city. The Aqueduct measures 14.965 meters long from its origin in the Sierra de Guadarrama mountains. It has 166 arches.

My outfit was inspired by Audrey Hepburn's Roman Holiday; white shirt with circle skirt. A simple yet classic look. However, on second thought, my look is kind of reminded me of the guys in Grease; black leather jacket, white t-shirt and blue denims. What a funny coincidence, don't you think?

Hola! I am back from hiatus and I am very delighted to be back here; to share thrifting or vintage hunting adventures and vintage purchases with you.

Whilst I away from the blogging world, I travelled to Spain for a short vacation. I will share more in the upcoming posts. In this trip, I did something differently from my past trips - travelled in style (in the terms of wardrobe). In my past trips, my wardrobe staples are a pair of denim pants and t-shirts. Whilst there is nothing wrong wearing jeans and t-shirts in a vacation, well, why not try to bring it up to the next level? And I did so in this trip.

This is one of my favourite vintage dresses. It is a late 1930s or early 1940s rayon dress which I bought from Victory Girl Vintage on Etsy. Dana has curated many lovely pieces in her Etsy shop and if I could, I would like to purchase all the lovely 30s and/or 40s dresses!

I styled this beautiful vintage dress with a leather jacket to make the whole look edgy. Mixing vintage pieces with modern pieces or elements elevates a look and exudes a little edginess (in my case).

outfit post: 70s does 30s or 40s dress

Outfit: vintage dress and heels 

This is one my favourite vintage dresses and also one of the great finds during a vintage hunting trip in Bandung, Indonesia six years ago. It was the most fruitful trip by far. I bought 12 vintage dresses and a vintage top! Oh boy, I miss shopping at flea markets. 

The reason this vintage dress is one of my favourite is because of its style; which is 30s or 40s inspired. Based on the label, this is a Mag Fortail Creations, Paris dress. After some searches on the Internet, I suspect this is a 1970s dress. I found a dress which has the same label in Etsy.  The motive and the colour are just so lovely and romantic. Luckily the dress still fits after all these years!

outfit post: graphic print 80s does 50s dress

Whilst a picture worth a thousand words, a great picture has greater impact. Looking at the photos in my blog, most of them are taken indoors. Hence, in Shanghai, I tried something new; engaging a photographer for an outdoor photo shoot. It was a good experience!

I bought this wonderful vintage dress during one my trips back to Malaysia in the past years. Before the trip, I managed to shorten the hem, making it a bit modern and to suit my frame. What I love about this dress is the print - blocks of black and white - such a bold print, don't you think? Minimal accessorizing works best with such bold print. The red belt adds a pop of colour into the outfit. Black, white and red is one of my favourite colour combos. What is your favourite colour combo?
