Chinese New Year celebration is around the corner. Shopping malls are decorated with lovely Chinese New Year decorations and Chinese New Year songs are being played - what a wonderful atmosphere! It is tradition to wear new clothes during Chinese New Year and I wish I have these lovely ensembles in my wardrobe...

the look: vintage top, vintage cardigan, thrifted vintage belt, vintage skirt, tights, heels
It feels great to be able to wear vintage clothes and be 'myself' again although it is an outfit work, for a day. I am not sure if any of my colleagues notice this but so far no one comments on my clothes or style. Well, I hope and look forward to wearing more vintage clothes...

One of the things that I miss so far is flea markets. I miss rummaging clothes on the racks or offer bins. And also haggling with the stall owners. Although I can find vintage clothes here, it is totally different experience. I am not sure when it is my next flea market adventure, but I hope it won't be a long wait...

I have not been checking out etsy for a while, especially on vintage patterns. Over the weekend, I spent some time browsing through vintage patterns and I fell in love with these. I was so tempted to put these into my virtual shopping cart but I managed to control myself...

Hello everyone! Sorry for MIA lately. I was away for a work trip to Boracay, Philippines. It was a tiring yet awesome work trip. Lovely beach, cool breeze, swaying coconut tree leaves... oh what a very picturesque view! I think from the photos, you can tell it is a lovely place for holiday.

the look: turtle neck top, vintage dress, tights, boots and tote bag
Finally, I mustered all the strength and courage to snap outfit photos outdoor. The weather was nice; sunny and not so cold. At first, it was kind of weird, as I have not been taking outdoor photos for a long time. After a while, I have got the hang of it but I still wanted to finish snapping as fast as I can. Hope you like these photos.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

I do not have much luck at SA thrift stores in HK but I do have all the luck I need in Mee & Gee stores. I can find lovely pieces on the HK$5 rack. One of the tops is for DIY project whilst the other one is ready to be worn for work! I foresee more thrifting trips to Mee & Gee...

It was sunny and cold at the same time last Saturday. Kind of a nice weather to hit the town. So I went to SA Family Store at Yau Ma Tei. My first thrifting trip for the year! The store is not too big and not too small either. As usual, you can find used clothes, shoes, bags toys, and other items in the store. Was I in luck? Neh... no luck this time. But it was ok. Luck came later though...
Address: G/F, No. 1A, Cliff Road Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon
Opening Hours: Mon - Sat 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
Can't wait for my next thrifting trip!
Have a good week ahead!

Here is the first fashion project for 2013. A simple project; brooch of interest. Why it is called brooch of interest? Well, you can decorate the pin / brooch with the charms you like. In my case, I love sewing so I have a sewing machine, a pair of scissors and a tiny bit of measuring tape charms.
Here is how to make the brooch...
You will need:
Pin / Brooch
Using the small rings, loop it to the each desired charms.
Attach these charms to the pin / brooch and secure them using pliers.
Make two bows using ribbon and lace and stitch the ribbon on top of the lace bow.
Attach the bows onto the pin / brooch.
This is optional step. As I find the actual pin / brooch causes an obvious hole when pinning onto clothes, I have decided to add a safety pin on the back of the pin / brooch.
Ta da... this is the finished pin / brooch.
What do you think of this project? Pretty simple, right? You can make this as a gift too as long as you know what your friends fancy.

Happy New Year! Hope you had a fabulous celebration with loved ones and friends. As part of my 2013 resolutions, I hope I can blog as frequent as I can and this is my first post for 2013. Remember that I mentioned I discovered two second hand branded stores which sell reasonable prices of vintage Chanel bags? Here are the stores:
Eco Ring Hong Kong
I am pleased to discover this store as it has some nice vintage Chanel bags collection in the price range from HK12,000 to HK30,000, if I have remember correctly. During my last visit, I saw a lovely double C diamond Chanel brooch selling at HK1,800 and I was so tempted to buy it but I did not. Restraining myself to spend more as I have spent quite a lot during Christmas.
